Cottage Details

The living room is beautifully designed with a welcoming feature fireplace, perfect for cosy evenings. It features two spacious three-seater Barker & Stonehouse sofas and a comfortable brown leather armchair, offering plenty of seating for everyone. Elegant wooden window shutters, a coffee table, side tables and stylish table lamps complete the inviting space, alongside a large Smart TV with soundbar and subwoofer for your entertainment.

Solid wood flooring flows throughout the lounge and entrance hallway, where you'll also find convenient coat hooks and a sideboard for additional storage.

The kitchen is a true centrepiece, thoughtfully designed to meet all your culinary needs. It features modern appliances including a dishwasher, washer dryer, hob, oven, designer hood, under-counter fridge, and a separate under-counter freezer. The dining space is perfectly arranged with a table and chairs for six, ensuring a delightful setting for meals, and a highchair is also available for the little ones.

On the 1st Floor, there are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

  • Room 1: A beautifully styled boutique bedroom with rich dark teal décor, creating a luxurious and relaxing retreat. Featuring a kingsize bed with a comfortable pocket-sprung mattress, elegant wooden window shutters, bedside lamps, a dressing table with chair and mirror, and a double wardrobe. The room also benefits from a private ensuite bathroom with a spacious 1200mm walk-in shower, dual mixer controls, WC, basin, mirror and heated towel rail.

  • Room 2: A stylish and inviting bedroom featuring decorative coving, an elegant statement light fitting and wooden window shutters, adding character and charm. Furnished with a kingsize bed with a comfortable pocket-sprung mattress, built-in wardrobe, small chest of drawers, bedside shelves with lamps, and a dressing table with chair and mirror.

  • Room 3: A comfortable and versatile bedroom featuring two single beds with quality pocket-sprung mattresses, which can be converted into a kingsize bed on request. The room also includes a built-in wardrobe, bedside cabinet, additional drawers and a mirror, along with convenient uplighting spotlights for reading.

Main Bathroom: This beautifully designed traditional bathroom features a comfortable bath complete with an overhead mixer shower for your convenience. It also includes a modern toilet and a stylish basin, all complemented by a cozy heated towel rail that ensures a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The private, south-facing garden is fully enclosed and gated, providing a secure outdoor space for your four-legged friends to enjoy. Arranged over two levels, the lower garden features a gravelled area with a comfortable bench, while a few steps lead up to the upper garden, which boasts a beautiful Indian stone patio with an outdoor table and chairs. This area is also separately gated and enjoys plenty of sunshine, making it a lovely spot to relax on warmer days and evenings.

The garden can be accessed directly from the cottage or via a separate secure gated entrance from the front street, particularly handy when returning from a muddy dog walk. Keys are provided for both entrances.

Solar lights and outdoor lighting are available for evenings, along with a convenient hosepipe for rinsing muddy paws and boots.

Free on-street parking is readily available along Lisburn Street, with spaces usually available directly outside the cottage. Parking for two cars is generally not a problem.

Visiting Alnwick, pronounced to sound like ‘panic’ without the ‘p’, is like stepping into a fairytale, where you can dine in the twinkling treetops of one of the world’s largest treehouses, fly a broomstick at Alnwick Castle, and visit a sleeping giant at The Alnwick Garden.

Just a short walk through Alnwick’s winding streets and past the archway of Bondgate Tower, the only remaining part of the town walls, will take you to Barter Books. Housed in a former Victorian railway station, it is now one of the largest second-hand bookshops in the UK, complete with one of the cosiest cafés in the county, and is just a short walk from Castle Walk House.

Alnwick Castle is spellbinding, with its starring role as Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry adding a hint of magic to the grounds. Discover the history of its medieval architecture and magnificent Italianate State Rooms, home to the Percy family, Dukes of Northumberland for centuries. It's a fantastic day out for the whole family.

Combine your visit with a trip to The Alnwick Garden, an enchanting attraction featuring thousands of plants, the spectacular Grand Cascade, a mysterious Poison Garden and a beautiful cherry orchard. From late April to early May, the magnificent Japanese Taihaku cherry blossoms burst into bloom, creating a breathtaking display.
